SEE BELOW DETAILS OF PLANNED TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF NEW ROAD, DITTON. We have confirmed with KCC that from 10th - 21st August New Road will be closed to traffic at the jct with the A20. The rest of the closures will be at night only. The Council has voiced it's concern to KCC about the disruption this will cause and that the suggested alternative route of Bradbourne Lane/St Peter's Road is not suitable for large vehicles.
Ferns Group - Temporary Road Closure, No Left Turn, No Right Turn & Cycle Lane Suspension - New Road, Station Road & A20 London Road, Ditton - 10th August 2026 (Tonbridge and Malling District)
Due to works planned to be undertaken by Ferns Group, it will be necessary to close parts of New Road & Station Road, Ditton, from 10th August 2026 with estimated completion by 5th September 2026. The Left and Right turns from A20 London Road into New Road & Station Road will be suspended. The cycle lane on A20 London Road will be suspended.
New Road will be closed in 2 phases at the junction with A20 London Road as detailed below:
From 10th August 2026 with estimated completion by 21st August 2026. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
From 29th August 2026, with estimated completion by 5th September 2026, between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via London Road, Bradbourne Lane, St Peters Road, New Road and vice versa.
Station Road will be closed at the junction with A20 London Road from 29th August 2026, with estimated completion by 5th September 2026, between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A20 London Road, Hall Road, Station Road and vice versa.
The cycle lane on A20 London Road will be temporarily suspended from outside property number 549 to outside property number 506 for the duration of the works. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There will be no left turn or right turn from A20 London Road into Station Road or New Road. The current Left and Right turns from A20 London Road into Station Road and New Road will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the works.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow highway improvement works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Ferns Group.
