PLANNING ISSUES IN DITTON - DITTON EDGE & LIDL

Two very important planning applications are about to be considered by the Area 3 Planning Committee at TMBC. These are TM/18/02966/OA – an outline application to develop the site to provide up to 300 dwellings on the EMR site South of Brampton Field between Bradbourne Lane and Kilnbarn Road [Ditton Edge]. The other is TM/19/02841/FL – demolition of existing buildings and erection of Class A1 foodstore [Lidl] on London Road.

We have been informed that both of these applications will be discussed at the TMBC Area 3 Committee Meeting to be held on Thursday 20th August at 6.30pm. The Agenda has just been published.

Because of the Coronavirus restrictions, the meeting will be on line via Microsoft Teams. Anyone that has objected or commented on these applications should be contacted and informed of how they can “speak for 3 minutes” at the meeting. The Parish Council will be represented by a Council Member for each application to reaffirm the Council’s objections to both of the applications.

If people want to “speak” at the meeting they can do this 3 ways:

1 Send in a statement for the Planning Officers to read out - making sure it can be read in 3 mins. In other cases if the 3 mins exceeded they cut people off even the officer reading something. Admin officers do it not planning staff.

2. Send a video of not more than 3 mins long and this will be played.

3. Give notice of a wish to speak in person via a live link.

To do any of the above, if you are not contacted by TMBC you can contact them at [email protected] .

In addition people may watch the meeting via YouTube. To do this you need to go in to the meeting agenda on the TMBC website and a link is shown. This will then take you into meeting but obviously one can only watch and not speak.
