VANDALISM IN DITTON !!!
We are very sad to report some senseless acts of vandalism that took place at the community centre and Kilnbarn recreation ground on Saturday 18th March. A group of youths took it upon themselves to "rip off" the plaque on Jared Smith's Memorial Bench. This is an absolutely abhorrent thing to do and has caused unnecessary distress to his family and friends. The same group also smashed a whole in the door of the gents outside toilet at the community centre and when confronted, subjected the duty caretaker to an unpleasant display of behaviour. This is third time that these toilets have been vandalised so they will have to remain closed for the foreseeable future. The wooden ranch fencing at the entrance to the quarry has also been damaged. If you witness any such vandalism or anti-social behaviour, please report it to the police and to the parish office if it is council property.
