Christmas at St Peter's Parish Church

As usual there is a very full programme of services and activities taking place at St Peter’s, but I would like to draw your attention to just some of them in this article.

We have 2 Carol Services on Sunday 17th December at 5pm and 7pm. The 5pm service is on the theme of ‘Gifts for Christmas’ and will be more suitable for families with young children.

On Christmas Eve at 10.00am the youth group will be taking the service and you can be sure that it will be lively and thought provoking! This group of 14-18 year olds meet each Sunday evening during term time and have led services in the past at St Peter’s.

The Christmas Eve Holy Communion service at 11.00pm is a wonderful way to be led into the joy and hope of Christmas Day and there is usually a little more space than at the Christmas Day morning service.

We have had a Christingle service for the past 10 years, a service which celebrates Christ as the Light of the World. Unlike most church’s our Christingle service is held in the New Year and next year it will be on January 7th at 4pm, followed by cake and refreshments in the Church Centre.

All of the services for Christmas will be in our Christmas edition of St Peter’s News which will be delivered in mid December. We hope you will be able to come and assure you of a very warm welcome!

Christmas Lights Competition

The Chairman and Vice- Chair of the Open Spaces and Amenities Committee will be looking around the village during the second week of December (next week) and will nominate the house they feel has the best outdoor Christmas Lights display as the winner.

Winners will be notified the following week.
