The
Freedom of Information Act 2000 applies to all bodies and officer holders
identified as “public authorities” listed in Part II of Schedule 1 to
the Act. This Act requires that each public authority to adopt and maintain
a publication scheme which has been approved by the Information Commissioner.
The Act is intended to encourage public authorities to be more open and
transparent and make readily available information listed under their
Publication Scheme.
Ditton parish council’s publication scheme was approved by the Information
Commissioner on 4th December 2002 and the information which is available
under the scheme is listed below. Please note that the parish council
is only required to list information it produces. Other information is
also available at the parish office and the Officers will help with locating
this whenever possible. Parish office opening hours are from 9:00 to 16:00
each weekday.

SCHEME
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the following
information is available for public access. This information may be viewed
at the Parish Office, by prior arrangement, any weekday between 9.00am
to 4.00pm. Copies of individual items may be purchased at a cost of 5p
per one-sided A4 sheet, with the exception of booklets etc., which will
be charged at the published price, details of which can be obtained from
the parish office.

3) PERIODIC ELECTORAL REVIEW
This is information concerning changes to the electoral arrangements for
the parish, town and community councils. It includes recommendations for
the creation of new wards, the amendment of existing wards, proposals
for the names of new wards and alterations to the number of councillors
to be elected to the council.

tenders, loan documentation and insurance policies. With regard to quotations
and tenders, this information is treated as confidential to ensure that
the whole tender process is fair i.e. if tender information is released

submitted tenders could be undercut and/or unfairly disadvantaged.
