619. OPENING OF MEETING
The meeting was opened by the Chairman at 7.30pm.

There were no declarations of interest.

It was NOTED that there were no apologies for absence as all members were
present.
622. MEETING WITH RESIDENTS AND PARTNER AUTHORITIES 18TH APRIL 2007
Decisions required in advance of the meeting on 18th April 2007
The Administrative Assistant REPORTED that quotations had been received
from the contractor that is supplying fencing for TMBC and Russett homes
in response to the meetings with residents and partner authorities to
combat anti-social behaviour:
(a) Fence and gate the entrance to Kilnbarn recreation ground, adjacent
to the petanque area - Quotation
The Chairman READ the quotation:-
To supply and erect approx. 24m of 2.4m high cranked top ‘Barbican’ fencing
and 1 no pedestrian gate to match for the sum of £8,278.00 + VAT
@ 17.5%
It was NOTED that a consultation has been undertaken with the residents
about the closure of this entrance and the results will be available at
the meeting on 18th April.
RESOLVED to proceed with the installation of the fence and gate, subject
to the agreement of the majority of the residents and to additional quotations
being obtained. Also, to undertake suitable planting to enhance the look
of the fence and make it more difficult to climb.
(b) Kilnbarn Play area – replacement of fencing between play area and
property boundary of Pear Tree Avenue [Item on OSA Agenda]
The quotation was READ:-
To supply and erect approx. 20m of 1.8m high galvanised chain link fencing
on black angle iron posts for the sum of £560.00 + VAT @ 17.5%
RESOLVED to agree in principle to a new fence being erected here but to
investigate a more substantial fence and to obtain additional quotations.
