90 children, parents and friends from Ditton Infants' Schools and Ditton CE Junior School enjoyed a day in France on Saturday 14th June 2008.

They set out at 6.30am and travelled through the Tunnel to Ditton's Twin Town of Rang-du-Fliers, where they were welcomed at 10.30 local time by the Mayor, together with the Headteacher of the Jacques Prevert School.

The party then divided into two groups; the Infants' Group, who have been maintaining links with the French School for several years, went to look round the School and meet the children, while Junior Group were taken on a walk around the Town. Everyone met in the School Playground where refreshments were provided at mid-day.

After a short break for shopping in the local Supermarket, the party drove to the seaside town of Berck-sur-Mer, which is about 15 minutes away. Some people picnicked on the beautiful beach, while others enjoyed the delicious meals on offer at the local Restaurants. The weather was kind – it was warm and sunny – and a good time was had by all. Hopefully, the links forged between these children will continue as they progress through School and into adulthood.
