409. DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTS
Member of Staff Mrs Greenaway declared a prejudicial interest in item 399.
410. ESTIMATES AND EXPENDITURE FOR 2009/2010
Cllr. Beadle gave a précis of the Finance and Administration Committee’s discussion at the previous meeting and its recommendation for the 2009/2010 estimates.
Considerable discussion took place.
RESOLVED not to RATIFY the Finance and Administration Committee’s recommendation to retain the precept at the same level in 2009/2010 as the current year, but instead to retain the Parish Council Tax rate at the same level in 2009/2010 as the current year.
Further discussion took place and Members were mindful that they will probably lose a substantial amount of income next year if the Borough Council’s parish boundary review finds in favour of moving the Ditton parish boundary so that the properties on the old Franschacht site fall within the Larkfield boundary instead of Ditton as at present.
RESOLVED to adjust the amount of income to be drawn from the investment interest to achieve the current level of Parish Council Tax rate for 2009/2010
Some Members expressed their concern that the funding for the 2009 Best Kept Garden Competition had been taken out of the budgets.
RESOLVED that if savings can be made during 2009/2010 and the funding can be found within the estimates, then the competition can go ahead.
RESOLVED to APPROVE and ADOPT the estimates for financial year 2009/2010.
